last few hours...
So here I am, closing in on the last few hours of being in my twenties...tomorrow I will turn the ripe age of THIRTY. The number used to scare me. It sounded too grown up... too old! There was a time I forever wanted to live a young and carefree life. 9 months ago, I had a very specific plan on what to do for my thirtieth birthday... it was so easy. I was planning to get a second tattoo commemorating my entrance into adulthood/womanhood. Of course, it didn't quite turn out that way, as it probably is NOT a good idea to get poked with needles while waiting to give birth at any given day! Sure, I'm a little disappointed (I will end up getting that second tat one day!) but I realized I don't need permanent ink on my body to mark my adulthood. I was forced to grow up when I became a young mother 10 years ago. I don't need a tattoo to see how grown up I am, as a new homeowner with a mortgage I certainly feel like an adult. I know I've blossomed into a woman as I carry life inside me and await to give birth for a 3rd time. So no longer will I be scared of turning 30, I will embrace it. How could I not when I have so much to look foward to? I can't wait to see and meet my second daughter for the first time, or bring my little guy to school on his first day of kindergarten. By the end of the year I could possibly (and finally!)become the wife to the love of my life. And can you believe that my eldest will be turning double digits in December? Bring on the pre-teens!!! With all these changes in my life, on turning 30... I am an adult and mature woman. I guess there's no denying it anymore...there's only one last thing to do...... someone pass the driver's manual, I need to get my license!!!!
