Family Day

On Monday we celebrated our second Family day. Just like last year, the Halili's (mom's side of the family) came over, hung out, and ate takeout all day long. This year we decided to order sushi for lunch and pizza for dinner. One thing we learned this time, (but probably always knew) is that everytime the Halili's get together and order take-out, we either never order enough or just enough... like we thought the party size pepperoni was too much, but ended up there was only 2 slices left when we all had taken our share. And I don't know if it's like this in other families, but we realized if you don't act quick enough, that last dynamite roll you've been eyeing from across the kitchen will get snatched up if you're too lazy to get up and get it! Auntie Marie even had to call my dad at least 5 times to come and eat cuz she knew there would be nothing left if he waited too long! By dinner time, she even put 2 slices of pizza away for him since he was taking too long again to get his food! In between meals, there was the usual round of poker and half a round of Monopoly, and a bootleg movie playing for the grown-ups. It was nice spending time with the family, not doing anything particular... we had a few members missing, as cousin Joshua had a bit of food poisoning the day before. And yes, Uncle Ben may not physically have been there, but I'm sure he was still with us spending quality time together.
