Proud to be Canadian!
As a kid, my sister and I always tuned in to the Olympics every 4 years. And although she wasn't with me the past couple of weeks, I still tuned in. Now that it's over, I've been somewhat going through Olympic withdrawals...there's nothing on TV to watch anymore during the day! Instead of watching any of my daytime talk shows, this morning I've had the tv on to sportsnet as it reviews the the past 2 weeks of Olympic coverage. And well, I just can't get enough of watching Crosby score that winning goal! Over the last 17 days I never got tired of seeing the images of Alexandre Bilodeau hugging his brother or Jon Montgomery chugging a pitcher of beer in Whistler. I'll miss tuning into Olympic Morning reviewing the highlights of the previous day, or watching what the Today show is showcasing about Canada on NBC. I'll miss watching the highlighted events during dinner and my son claiming that one day he too will win a gold medal! And to this day a tear still comes to my eye everytime that Tim Horton's commercial comes on! I've always been proud to be Canadian but the Olympics in Vancouver has brought a different sense of pride in me. Different as I hope that my sister and any other Canadian living in or out of the country will carry that same pride too!
